The Howe School
Dr. Zadok Howe of Billerica, MA donated the land & building for the prestigious Howe School, as well as a trust fund for its operation & maintenance. Built on a granite foundation in 1852, this substantial 2-story brick building was designed in the Greek Revival style. It operated continuously until about 1915, and remained a School Department asset until the 1980’s.
The Howe School has been preserved and updated by Billerica Access TV (BATV). The school’s significance is illustrated by its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
