Ways to Give

Contribute to the Annual Fund: Gifts to the Annual Fund are not only critical to the daily operations of the Clara Sexton House and Museum but also help sustain our changing exhibitions, public and family programming, and educational initiatives.  The Annual Fund provides the Billerica Historical Society with unrestricted funds that make up 30% of the Clara Sexton House and Museum’s operating budget each year.  Your gift of any amount is very much appreciated as every contribution helps the Society.

The Billerica Historical Society’s Annual Fund directly supports:

  • Keeping the Clara Sexton House and Museum open to the public for public and private tours
  • The Clara Sexton House and Museum’s content-rich school programs are experienced by many schoolchildren each year
  • The preservation of the Clara Sexton House and Museum’s collection of cherished objects representing our towns and nation’s heritage
  • A year-round calendar of public programs and events for visitors of all ages

To contribute a gift of any size to the Billerica Historical Society’s Annual Fund, you may give online or by mail.  The Billerica Historical Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  All donations to the Society are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Become a Preservation Patron: Help Support the Billerica Historical Society by becoming one of the following Preservation Patrons –

Gifts of Securities: The Billerica Historical Society welcomes gifts of securities for the Annual Fund or other purposes.  Please email for instructions.

Matching Gifts: Many companies will match gifts to non-profit organizations.  Gifts to the Billerica Historical Society through a matching gift program will double your support of the Museum.  Please enclose a matching gift form with your contribution.

Tribute Gifts: Annual Fund gifts in honor or in memory of an individual are a way to celebrate that individual’s passion for the Clara Sexton House and Museum.

Gifts in honor: If you wish to make a gift to honor someone special, for their birthday, anniversary or any other occasion, your gift will be acknowledged in a card informing the person honored of your generosity to the Clara Sexton House and Museum.

Gifts in memory: If you wish to make a gift in memory of someone, a card will be sent to the designated relative or friend acknowledging your thoughtful tribute.

Donate Items

Gift of Items: The Billerica Historical Society welcomes gifts of items (i.e. – period furniture, clothing, documents, letters, photos, genealogies and ephemera from many eras and topics, etc.) for the Annual Fund or other purposes.

The Billerica Historical Society continues to add to its collection through the gifts and bequests of generous friends, as well as through purchases funded by supporters of the Clara Sexton House and Museum.

The Billerica Historical Society adds depth and breadth to the collection by focusing on objects made in or associated with Billerica, Massachusetts, or the Colonial/Victorian period of the House/Museum.  These objects are given a home, preserving them for future generations and making them accessible to all.

Note: All items to be donated must be approved by the Collection Committee and the Board.  We do not offer a blanket acceptance to all offerings of items.
